摘要 The system incorporates a device to estimate relative left and right hand wheel slippage and a sensor to estimate side forces to give a side force factor. A further device estimates the ideal braking force on the basis of the relative slippage and the factor. The brakes are intended to brake the driven wheel by the ideal amount. Further sensors report vehicle speed (76), transverse acceleration (78), yaw (80) velocity and attendant factors. This will be zero when the product of vehicle and yawing speeds lies below a given threshold and positive when the product specified lies above the threshold so the product must increase until it reaches this threshold. In rear wheel drive, a longitudinal speed sensor is included in the system and the factor estimator gives a zero factor at speeds below and positive above the threshold.
