Modular borehole measurement probe obviating collection and storage of specialised, expensive and inflexible probes

A borehole probe comprises a base section (10) onto which the measuring modules and guidance modules (20) are attached interchangeably by couplings. Preferably, the measuring modules and guidance modules have couplings to attach additional measurement and guidance modules. The base section includes an inclination sensor. It has a controller with analogue to digital (ADC) conversion for the measured data. The base section has a lengthy housing, on either end of which, there is a coupling.
