A control system is equipped with a non-volatile memory (12) consisting of memory banks, and with a transient memory (13) for the storage of programs and data. Only one memory bank of the non-volatile memory is accessed simultaneously. The non-volatile memory and the transient memory are controlled in such way, that the respectively accessible memory bank of the non-volatile memory is only partially accessible. An attempt of access by an address, which is not associated accessible in the respective memory bank, the transient memory is put into a condition allowing an access, and becomes addressable over this address.
