A ridge board holder comprises a board shoe consisting of a U-shaped profile member and a fixing strip which is connected to rafters. The strip has a row of holes on each side and parallel edge fixing holes. The fixing strip (12) has a guide nose (22) on /-1 side surface near the locating holes. The holder preferably consists of polypropylene which is reinforced, e.g. with glass fibres.
