The invention pertains to a vehicle steering mechanism whose driver-operated steering handle (24) is effectively connected through a control system to a motive positioning unit (4) associated to the vehicle's steered wheels (1). This is a hydraulic positioning unit (4) which can be actuated through two separate hydraulic circuit (7, 8, 10, 14; 5, 6, 16, 20) which are preferably cross-linked so that optionally, system circuits of one hydraulic circuit may be used in another hydraulic circuit.
