<p>Benzoquinolizine derivatives represented by general formula (1), pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and medicinal compositions containing the same as the active ingredients, wherein R1 represents hydroxy or alkoxy; R2 represents hydrogen, hydroxy or alkoxy; R3 represents alkyl optionally substituted by hydroxy, alkoxy, amino, monoalkylamino or dialkylamino; and R4 represents alkyl optionally substituted by hydroxy or alkoxy, aryl optionally sustituted by alkyl, halogeno, hydroxy, alkoxy, amino, monoalkylamino or dialkylamino, monoalkylamino or dialkylamino. Because of being capable of regulating the gastro-intestinal tract motion, these compounds are efficacious in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.</p> |
