Shredding and sorting of different plastics containing other materials and process equipment

In a process for shredding and separating of different plastics containing other materials the latter are sorted from the plastics after a first shredding stage and the shredded plastics sucked downwards into a cyclone chamber (8) to remove the air before washing and drying. Process equipment includes a shredder (1) above a conveyer belt (2) along which one or more magnetic separating drums (3, 4) are located for removing coarse and/or fine ferrous materials. At the end (5) of the belt (2) and at a distance from it is a suction hood (6) connected to a cyclone chamber (8) and a fan (9).
