Production of blank used in production of aluminium (alloy) components

Production of a blank comprise (a) forming a slurry by mixing reinforcing materials, including ceramic particles and 1st. whiskers, with powders removed by combustion and fluid; (b) filtering the liquid components contained in the slurry, to prepare a dewatered structure; and (c) sintering the ceramic particles with the 1st. whiskers after the combustion of the powder in the dewatered structure. Also claimed are (i) the blank itself; and (ii) the production of an aluminium (alloy) composite component.
