The actual transmission ratio is detected and used for calculating a dynamic characteristic estimation value, used in combination with the actual and the required transmission ratios for providing a transmission ratio correction command value, in turn used to provide an operating command value for an operating element (13). A lowpass filter is incorporated for compensating external interference, receiving the operating element position signal or the ratio command value.
