Recharge profile for spacecraft Ni/H2 Batteries

The method involves applying a charging current to the battery resulting in a full state of charge for the battery. After a full state of charge for the battery has been achieved and for a duration up to approximately 60 minutes a boost charging current is applied at a rate in the range of approximately C to C/20 for at least a part of that duration. The battery is then discharged from the full state of charge. A taper charging current is applied to the battery, immediately prior to applying the boost charging current.
