PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition composed mainly of an inorganic component consisting of Ca4(PO4)2O powder essentially having excellent biocompatibility and having a bulk density higher than a specific level and an organic component consisting of citric acid and malonic acid participating in the metabolism in the loving body. CONSTITUTION:The objective dental cement composition is composed mainly of (A) Ca4(PO4)2O powder having a bulk density of >=0.9g/cm<3> (preferably powder produced by pressing powder with a rubber press before baking, forming under a pressure of 500-1,500kg/cm<2> and baking the formed product) and (B) an aqueous solution containing 40-45% of citric acid and 5-10% of malonic acid. Preferably, the aqueous solution further contains 0.2-0.5wt.% of calcium gamma-pyrophosphate. The components of the composition are same as those of dentine and the liquid agent is an organic acid participating in the metabolism in living body. The composition has sufficient physical properties as a dental cement. |
