摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a biaxial acceleration sensor having a simple structure and capable of detecting accelerations in two directions. CONSTITUTION:Strip-shaped electrodes are formed to the outer peripheral surface of a piezoelectric ceramics column 10 in parallel to the longitudinal direction of said column and some of them are set to output electrodes 92, 94, 96, 98 on every other one in the circumferential direction of the outer peripheral surface of the column 10 and the remainder of them is set to common earth electrodes 91, 93, 95, 97 and polarizing treatment is applied to the gap parts of the adjacent strip-shaped electrodes in directions respectively reverse with respect to the circumferential direction and, further, one end part of the piezoelectric ceramics column 10 is fixed to a base 11. When the base 11 is vibrated in the surface direction right-angled to the center axis of the piezoelectric ceramics column 10, the acceleration component in the direction connecting a pair of the electrodes opposed to each other with respect to the center axis among the output electrodes 92, 94, 96, 98 is detected from the differential voltage of the voltages generated in a pair of the electrodes to make it possible to detect the acceleration components in two directions crossing each other at a right angle in a plane.
