PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyamide hollow fiber having fine pours, excellent in properties for absorbing and discharging moisture and composed of a structure which has a high hollow ratio and communicates between the surfaces and the hollow parts through a part of groups of fine pours existing on the surface. SOLUTION: A core-sheath type conjugate fiber is formed by using a mixture of an easily alkali-soluble polyester consisting of polyethylene terephthalate prepared by copolymerizing 5-sulfoisophthalic acid sodium salt and polyethylene glycol, and a thermoplastic polyamide such as nylon 6 at a weight ratio of 5:95 to 30:70 as the sheath component and the easily alkali-soluble polyester as the core component. The obtained conjugate fiber is treated for alkali thinning to elute the easily alkali-soluble polyester to obtain the objective polyamide hollow fiber having fine pours. The polyamide fiber has such a structure that the fiber has a hollow ratio of >=30%, groups of fine pours exist on the surface of fiber, and the surfaces and the hollow parts communicate through a part of the groups of fine pours. |
