摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens peripheral edge grinding method and a device thereof which can grind lens in a glass lens shape by adjusting the grinding amount of a lens to be processed under consideration of the amount of displacement in the peripheral direction of a contact position between the lens to be processed and a grinding wheel. SOLUTION: This is a lens peripheral edge grinding method which advances and retreats a lens to/from a grinding wheel 6 for each rotational angle nΔθand provide the peripheral edge of a lens LE to be processed with grinding into a glass lens shape with the grinding wheel 6 based on dataρn, nΔθfor lens peripheral edge processing. A displacement angle dθn between a virtual processing point at a radius vectorρn of the rotational angle dθ[n=0, 1, 2, 3,...j] and an actual contact processing point of the processed lens LE with the grinding wheel 6 at the rotational angleθΔθis obtained from the dataρn nΔθand a radius of curvature of the grinding wheel. As the displacing angle dθn at the rotational angle nΔθis getting bigger, the rotational angle speed of the lens to be processed at an angular section (n) between n-1Δθand nΔθis made smaller, thus it is possible to make the grinding amount of the peripheral edge at the respective angular sections constant.
