PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such photocatalyst particles and the production method of such particles that odor or harmful matter in air or contamination can be decomposed and removed, that purification of environment such as processing of waste water and antimold or antimicrobial treatment can be effectively and safely performed, and that even when the particles are added by kneading to an org. fiber or a plastic material for use, excellent characteristics such as durability can be obtd. SOLUTION: This photocatalyst particle is obtd. by coating a titania particle surface with a ceramic sol liquid with addition of an org. polymer, and then heating and calcining. The surface of the titania particle is coated with a ceramic film which is inactive as a photocatalyst. Moreover, the ceramic film surface has pores and the titania which is active as a photocatalyst is exposed in the bottom of the pore. Thereby, when the particles are kneaded with an org. fiber or a plastic material for use, purification of environment can be performed by irradiation of light without causing decomposition in the org. fiber. |
