PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stable conductivity even if an applied voltage is changed. SOLUTION: An elastic roll comprises a mandrel and an elastomer part surrounding the mandrel. The surface layer of the roll is formed of elastomer containing silicone rubber as a main component. When the variation of the applied voltage to the layer is a range of 1 to 3kV, the varying width of the resistivity of the layer displayed by a common logarithm is set to 0.5 or less. The layer may be formed of an elastomer in which 10 to 40 pts.wt. of a needle metal titanate salt is added to 100 pts.wt. silicone rubber. Even if the applied voltage to the roll is varied, the conductivity is stabilized. When it is used for a transfer elastic roll for a laser printer or electrophotographic copier, a transfer image of high quality with small transfer irregularity can be obtained. |
