PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer control device which is capable of lightening the load on a CPU and also decreasing the capacity of a received data buffer. SOLUTION: When a host device 5a checks based on a busy signal (Busy) that a printer control device is not busy, the device 5a sends data (DATA) and a strobe signal (/Strobe). If a host I/F 5 receives this signal and sets the busy signal (Busy) to be HIGH so that the next set of data is not sent. If a delay mode register 3a is set to an ON position, the host I/F 5 delays time required to set the busy signal (Busy) to be LOW and time for sending an acknowledgement signal (/Ack) by N×reference clock and at the same time, delays likewise an interruption signal (/Int) with a CPU 1. Further, the CPU 1 issues a DMA request signal (/DREQ), if a delay time set in the delay time register 3b lapses to enter the interruption signal (/Int).
