PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the accumulated dimensional errors in the feed direction of work pieces and improve working precision by providing the device with regions where the disposition spacings between working units are specific and forming the work pieces existing in these regions in a non-restrained state in the feed direction and thickness direction. SOLUTION: The spacings of the pilot pins between the working units 24 and 25 and between 25 and 26 are respectively formed to 2P-α1 and 2P-α2 . The spacings between the pilot pins may be defined as mP1 (P1 <P), where m is an arbitrary positive integer and P is the feed pitch of the work pieces. The pilot pins do not engage with the pilot holes 29 existing at these spacings and since the work pieces in these regions are not restrained in the feed direction and thickness direction thereof, slight slacks are eventually formed. The dimensional fluctuations occurring in the elongation or contraction in the case the work pieces 15 are subjected to, for example, bending or drawing are consequently absorbed and the working accuracy is assured.
