PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a steel for laser gas cutting capable of stable cutting even if being thick, in a steel having a specified componental compsn. in which the content of Mo is prescribed, by regulating the thickness of a scale layer therein to a specified one. SOLUTION: In a steel contg., by weight, 0.03 to 0.25% C, 0.01 to 0.50% Si, 0.05 to 1.60% Mn, 0.05 to 0.1% Mo, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, the thickness of a scale layer therein is regulated to 10 to 60μm. In this way, the relatively dense scale layer can be obtd., and the steel capable of stable laser gas cutting even if being thick can be obtd. |
