PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a basic amorphous refractory having excellent durability and capable of controlling the defective infiltration of slag and solving a problem of spalling without deteriorating the high corrosion resistance of the high basic property. SOLUTION: This basic amorphous refractory comprises >=50 pts.wt. of a MgO-Al2 O3 synthetic clinker comprising 50-80wt.% of MgO, 17-50wt.% of Al2 O3 and the remaining amount of inevitable impurities, 1-6 pts.wt. of carbon and the remaining amount of a MgO clinker, wherein the total amount of the components is 100 pts.wt. Especially, the addition of one or more kinds of alumina particles, zirconia particles and titania particles each having a particle diameter of <=0.05mm in a total amount of 1-10 pts.wt. to the basic amorphous refractory further improves the slag infiltration resistance. |
