METHOD FOR REMOVING COPPER AND TIN FROM MOLTEN IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing copper and tin from molten iron which increases copper removal and/or tin removal velocities and can perform these removals in a high efficiency for a short time. SOLUTION: This method for removing copper and/or tin in the molten iron comprises injecting oxidizing agent composed of iron oxide powder or/and oxide powder having lower oxidizing force than that of the iron oxide into carbon-containing molten iron under reducing pressure of <=10Torr to execute decarburization in the molten iron. Then, the injecting quantity per unit time in each one injecting position is made to 500-1,500KJ/min in terms of endothermic quantity of the oxidizing agent.
