PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sure recovery motion corresponding to a residual amount of ink inside an ink feed container in an ink jet recorder. SOLUTION: A recording head 1 is connected to an ink feed container 3 via a coupling component 2 being an ink feed means, sucks out the ink absorbed in a foam 11 in the ink feed container 3 with a hollow needle 9, and discharges an ink drop in coincidence with a recording signal while receiving feed via an ink feed channel 13 of the coupling component 2. A couple of electrodes for detection of an ink residual amount 101 is provided in the foam 11. Further, a cap component 4 connected to a pump 5 is made to abut against a nozzle plate 26 of the recording head 1 to receive information from a processor 104, and recovery motion is executed by selection with a controller 6. |
