摘要 <p>Manufacture of a decorative mainly isometric thermosetting laminate (1) comprising an isometric core (2), a primary surface layer (10) and optionally a secondary surface layer (20) comprises: (i) mixing 85 parts by weight (pts.wt.) preferably organic particles (a) of average particle size 5- 3,000, preferably 5-2,000 ~mm, with 15-85, preferably 22-37 pts.wt. powdered thermosetting resin (b) comprising phenol-formaldehyde, melamine-formaldehyde and/or urea-formaldehyde resin(s) in an extruder while kneading energetically so that friction heat is formed but is not allowed to exceed 150 deg C and is preferably below 90 deg C, so that (b) becomes soft and is bonded to or impregnates (a), and (a) that are possibly joined by (b) are divided and an agglomerate of (a) and (b) is formed having an average particle size of 200-3000 ~mm and a resin content of 10-50, preferably 20-30 wt.%; (ii) drying the particle/resin mixture to a water content below 10, preferably below 5 wt.%; and (iiia) evenly distributing the dried mixture on a carrier (30), a pressing belt (41) of a continuous laminate press (40) or on a press plate (51) of a discontinuous laminate press (50), then (dis)continuously compressing at 60-120, preferably 80-100 deg C and 15-400, preferably 30-120 bar so that the particle/resin agglomerate flows out without completely curing the resin so that a prefabricate to an isometric core is obtained, and feeding the prefabricated core in between press belts (41) or placing it on a press plate (51) together with a primary surface layer provided with a decorative layer and optionally a secondary layer, then (dis)continuously compressing at 120-200, preferably 140-180 deg C and 15-300, preferably 30-150 bar so that the resin cures to provide the laminate having an isometric core; or (iiib) evenly distributing the dried mixture as before and (dis)continuously compressing at 120- 200, preferably 140-180 deg C and 15-300, preferably 30-150 bar so that the resin cures to form an isometric core which is provided with a primary surface layer and optionally a secondary surface layer during or after the pressing. Also claimed is the laminate so produced, which is mainly isometric with a difference in coefficient of expansion between its length and cross direction of less than 10%.</p>
