摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high purity silicon sulfide with excellent workability by synthesizing silicon sulfide at a low temp. to expand the selection width of materials and device. SOLUTION: Silicon sulfide is synthesized by dispersing a silicon powder in a fused sulfur after adding the silicon powder having <=100μm particle diameter into a fused sulfur and stirring to wet the particle surface of the silicon with sulfur and after cooling, evacuating the inside of a vessel and heating to bring them into reaction. The mixing ratio of sulfur to silicon at the time of wetting and dispersing the silicon powder in the fused sulfur is controlled to 1.1-1.8 times of the stoichiometric number of silicon disulfide and the heating temp. is controlled to 400-800 deg.C.
