摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylene polymer excellent in both processing characteristics in large-scale blow molding and mechanical characteristics by continuously (co)polymerizing ethylene in the presence of a specified catalyst system under specified conditions. SOLUTION: The catalyst system used is obtained by treating a homogeneous solution comprising a 1-20C hydrocarbon solvent containing a compound Mg(OR<1> )m X<1> 2-m [wherein R<1> is a 1-20C (cyclo)alkyl or aryl; X<1> is halogeno; and m is 1 or 2] and a compound Ti(OR<2> )n X<2> 4-n (wherein R<2> is the same as R<1> ; X<2> is halogeno; and n is 1 to 4) with a compound AlR<4> p X<3> 3-p (wherein R<4> is the same as R<1> ; X<3> is halogeno; and 0<p<3). A polymer A having an intrinsic viscosity [η]A of 1.0 to 1.5 and accounting for 75-90wt.% of the whole polymer is produced in the polymerization of ethylene in the first reaction region, and a polymer B having an intrinsic viscosity [η]B of 13 to 20 and accounting for 25-10wt.% of the whole polymer is produced in the second reaction region, with the ratio of [η]B to [η]A being (10 to 20):1, so that the whole polymer obtained has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 3.5 to 4 and a density of 0.96 to 0.97.
