摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a low cost and stable high quality glass by remarkably reducing the content of GeO2 , which has a effect to increase the refractive index but is very expensive, compared with the conventional practice at the time of producing the high refractive index glass. SOLUTION: The high refractive index optical glass having the refractive index (nd) of 1.90-2.03 and the Abbe's number (νd) of 25-35 is obtained by incorporating respective components of, by weight, 3.0-16.0% B2 O3 , 3.0-19.0% GeO2 , 20.0-50.0% La2 O3 , 0.1-10.0% TiO2 , 0.5-10.0% ZrO2 , 11.0-35.0% Nb2 O5 , 0-<2.0% SiO2 , 0-3.0% Al2 O3 , 0-8.0% Gd2 O3 , 0-30.0% Ta2 O5 , 0-20.0%, ZnO, 0-30% RO (where, R=Ca, Sr, Ba), 0-0.5% R'O2 (where, R'=Li, Na, K), 0-3.0% SnO2 , 0-10.0% Bi2 O3 and 0-1.0% Sb2 O3 .
