EXHAUST GAS FILTER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas filter which is free from a deformation generated on the end face and the cell wall of a honeycomb molding by its own weight or a fissure and a blister on the surface due to rapid dehydration and a method for manufacturing this exhaust gas filter. SOLUTION: A dry honeycomb molding 31 with either of cells, on both end faces which is alternately blocked with a filler is imbedded in a ceramic powder 33 and then is baked. Under this constitution, it is possible to eliminate a deformation generated on the end face and the cell wall by weight or a fissure and a blister on the surface due to rapid dehydration in an exhaust gas filter.
