A railway goods wagon has a roof made in two parts. Each part can be separately raised and then slid over the other part of the roof in order to open the wagon. In the closed position the roof is supported on rollers (4) which rest on a short length of rail (13) which is attached to the end of a swinging arm (10). In order to retract the roof the arm is swung upwards through 90 deg so that the short length of rail (13) fills the gap in a fixed upper rail. The part roof can then be slid along the fixed rail over the other part of the roof. USE - Railway goods wagons with sliding roofs.
