<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to control an image density without a void by the dot by converting line data to be invalidated of the data equivalent to an N line to non-printable data, when extending the data of a single pixel row of data for an original image into data equivalent to an N line and performing a multiple exposure of dots. SOLUTION: An LED printer 1 for forming an image on a recording paper using video data is composed of a printer controller 1a, an engine controller 1b and a PPC engine 1c, and the engine controller 1b generates video data for driving an LED head. IN this case, the LED head, equipped with an ordinary exposure element of a single dot size, extends the data of a single pixel row (line) of data for an original image into data equivalent to an N line and performs a multiple exposure of dots using the data equivalent to an N line. When performing this multiple exposure, the data of a line to be invalidated of the data equivalent to the N line is converted to non-printable data in compliance with an assigned image density.</p> |
