The ducting comprises an extruded aluminum profile with a height equal to the thickness of the tabletop or desktop (6.1). A gap is provided in the top side of the profile for feeding the cables into it, and this gap can be covered using a strip of resilient material or resilient pieces of rigid material. The ducting is secured to and extends along a side edge of the tabletop or desktop.
