An overload clutch comprises a first clutch half K1 on the take-off side and a second clutch half K2 on the drive side which is connected on axial movement to the first clutch half K1 via toothing 2. In the case of relative rotation of the two clutch halves K1, K2 owing to overload, the toothing is disengaged by a spring assembly 3. In order to allow release of the clutch below overload torque, an actuating device 4, 5, 7 can axially move the spring assembly 3 independently of the state of the toothing under control of a piston and cylinder assembly 7, 13, R which is connected axially rigidly but rotatably to the second clutch half K2 and which can admit compressed air. In order to allow engagement of the clutch in the correct angular position, a detector, not shown, is arranged to detect a variation in air pressure caused by an indicator element 1 when the clutch halves are coordinated at the correct angle. The element 1 is constituted by an apertured baffle plate.

|
