The hyperfrequency signal generator comprises a device (S) emitting a first beam of a first wavelength and second beam which is shifted in frequency. A photodetector (D) comprises an optical detection zone and two electrodes (E1, E'1) situated on either side of the detection zone. A transmission path is provided to carry the two beams to the photodetector in such a way that they interfere in the photodetector at a given angle. A voltage source is connected to the two electrodes. The generator may then comprises several photodetectors, aligned in a given direction (X), such that the beams interfere in the photodetectors in order to form interference fringes which are aligned parallel with a second direction (Y), which forms a given non-zero angle w.r.t. the first direction (X).
