<p>A combustion plant comprises a combustion chamber (1) which is provided to enclose a pressurized, fluidized bed (4). Furthermore, the plant comprises a purification device (9, 10, 11) for purifying the combustion gases. The purification device comprises a separating member (9) and a device for recirculating the separated particulate material to the combustion chamber (1). The recirculation device comprises a channel (23) connecting the separating member and combustion chamber, and passive means (25) configured in such a manner that during the operation of the combustion plant a column of material is formed in the channel (23). The passive means forms a passage having a constant flow area in a lower part of the channel (23) and permits that the weight of the column (24) of material in a continuous flow discharges the material therethrough. The invention also relates to a method of operating the combustion plant.</p> |
