Refrigerated material crushing method for material separation

The method involves exposing refrigerated material (6) to a pressure pulse which is triggered by an HV discharge (7). The pressure pulse is transmitted to a diaphragm (5) which is heated and contacts the material. Preferably, the mechanism comprises an HV pulse generator (1) and electrodes (2,3), which are located in a pressure pulse transmission medium (4), surrounded by the diaphragm. The pressure pulse transmission medium is a liquid and the diaphragm may contain heating wires. The medium may be joined to a heater.
