The invention relates to a process and a device for loading and unloading transport units, e.g. interchangeable platforms, containers (22) or the like on or from transport vehicles (21, 32) like lorries (21) and/or rail (31) vehicles (32), in which goods to be commissioned, especially palleted, packed or rolled goods, and preferably bulk items like rockwool products or the like, are taken without intermediate storage from production (2) and taken to a loading and unloading device (16) in which the goods are taken directly into the transport units (22) which are arranged and loaded in at least two superimposed horizontal planes (23, 25). A process or device of the invention permits the rapid transfer of goods from production (2) to various transport units (21, 32) simply and economically without the need for the intermediate storage of the goods in buildings (6).
