The alternator design includes a stator secured between front and rear supports and a rotor supported by front and rear bearings, facing one another within the stator core and driven by the rotation of the engine. A number of elastic plates (80) are attached to the rear support (20) at spaced intervals, for applying an elastic retaining force to the outer periphery of the rear bearing (50) for preventing creep.
