To paste and set the cartons upright a tandem holding tool (38) is used with two spaced apart holding units for defined fixing of a carton sleeve (26). Two spaced apart delivery stations (54) are provided on the transportation unit (56). The distance between the two holder units of the tool corresponds to half the distance between the two delivery stations of the transportation unit, and the pasting station (36) is equally distant from the two delivery stations.
