Diesel engine with exhaust gas turbo-charger and EGR

The exhaust gas recirculation duct (15) is tapped off above the turbo drive (3) in the exhaust duct. The recirculation duct contrails a self regenerating particle filter (16), a temperature sensor (17) and a solenoid control valve (18). The valve regulates the amount of recirculation and is controlled by the engine management system. The recirculated gas is cleaned by the filter and is added to the inlet airflow. The compressed airflow in the inlet system is passed through a cooler (8) before being passed into the cylinders. The engine management system monitors temperatures, engine condition eg. engine speed etc.
