An injection moulding process for manufacturing plastic components, uses a moulding tool (1,2) having an embossing unit (4) including one or more rotating rolls (5) with characters around the periphery which act as a counter and advance one step every time a product is demoulded. The embossing unit (4) forms a pressure tight connection with the tool cavity (3) and the characters project into the latter to form characters on the mouldings. Also claimed is the processing apparatus, used in the above method, comprising a moulding tool (1,2) with the embossing unit (4) and marking roll (5).
