Rail wheel with light structure

The wheel type (2) is of the compound type with an inner ring (2a) of aluminium on which is located an outer steel bandage (2b), which encompasses the running surface (2b*) and the track ring (2n**). The inner ring and the steel bandage can be produced by compound rolling. The wheel tyre may be held in a sprung manner on the wheel rim (1c) by a rubber inlay (3). The rubber inlay is composed of a number of spaced apart rubber bodies (3). These bodies can be under radial tension and are located in an outer ring groove (1c*) of the rim and inner ring groove (2a*) of the inner ring of the wheel tyre.
