Embolisation coil for endo=vascular occlusion of cerebral vessel malformation

The coil comprises a flexible metal wire (5) which assumes a tangled spherical or elliptical shape when leaving a microguide used for its implantation in the aneurysm (4). It then adapts itself to imitate the anatomical shape of the aneurysms. An effective thrombosis is induced by occluding the intraliminal blood flow. The metal surface of the coil may promote the clotting of the blood.
