Automated syringe operation

Automated syringe operation, for injection of medication or taking blood, comprises a portable control/drive unit which transfers force to the plunger of at least one syringe which is held manually or secured by a mounting. The syringe has a program control which is independent of the syringe position, giving a precisely injected dose of medication or extracted volume of blood. The syringe can also be used manually without the plunger drive. Also claimed is a kit with a drive (13) and a modified syringe (1). The drive is linked to the positioned syringe through a tube or catheter, independent of the syringe location. The drive (13) has a program control (6,19,23,25) to operate the plunger(s) (2) according to requirements.
