A beverage can has a tear-off closure with a tab which can be pressed in over an embossed edge. The tear-off closure consists of a lever with a grip. The lever is secured by a first connection to the can lid so that when the embossed edge is torn off the tab remains on the lid. According to the invention, the lever is secured by a second connection to the tab and the second connection is located behind the tab, approximately aligned with the middle of the grip and the first connection. The first connection is designed to rotate, so that when the tab is torn off it can swivel around the second connection toward the edge of the can and then back over the hole created in the lid. |
