Antipsychotics and analgesics containing 1,1-dialkyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines represented by formula (I) wherein R<1> and R<2> are, independently each other, lower alkyl groups, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which exert a potent antipsychotic effect by blocking dopamine D2 receptors and also a potent analgesic effect without causing any morphine-like dependence.
