The fitting (1) holds together the component parts of desk-tops. It is bolted to a tensioning component (7) with a claw (11). The fitting incorporates one or more self-adjusting faces (4), onto which the tensioning component is positioned. A self-adjusting surface forms a space into which a claw extends and grips. The tensioning component incorporates a tensioning (8) bush and a locking wedge (22).
