THERMOPLASTIC BIODEGRABLE, AND ALIPHATIC POLYESTER AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

The mixture of compd.(a)(n=2) and compd.(b)(n=3-8) of succinic acid or metyhlsuccinate(1)having a wt. ratio of a/b 7:3-10:0 was added with 1,4-butanediol and 1,6-hexabediol(2)having a wt. ratio of 5:5-10:0 and polycondensed with 0.005-2 wt. % catalyst selected from dibutyltinoxide, tetrabutyltitanate, calciumacetate followed by polycondensed in presence of 0.2-1.5 wt. % diluent at 240-270 deg.C to give a biodegradable aliphatic polyester. In formula R,R'=H, methyl, n=2-8, m=2-6.
