A process for checking the access entitlement of an operator of a first unit in an access by a first unit via a connection oriented data network which has a signalling channel and an information channel to a second unit involves the steps: transmission of the calling party number of the first unit and a PIN allocated to the user of the first unit via the signalling channel of the connection oriented data network to the second unit; checking whether the calling party number of the first unit is one of a plurality of stored calling party numbers, whether the PIN of the operator is one of a plurality of stored PINs and whether the calling party number and the PIN are stored as belonging together; refusal of access by the first unit to the second if at least one of the checks gives a negative result; and otherwise granting access. |
