PURPOSE: To provide a ferromagnetic fluid separator utilizing effectively a magnetic field formed by magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal separation vessel 20 filled with a ferromagnetic fluid comprises the first transport system 30 provided with vertical separators 33 attached each at equidistance and transporting the ferromagnetic fluid and non-magnetic material to be separated. Down the second outlet 21 located at an end of a bottom of the horizontal separation vessel 20, an electromagnet 10 having a predetermined space between the N pole and the S pole is provided. A magnetic field slope is formed by the electromagnet 10 in the direction of the earth gravity. Higher density particles among the non-magnetic material sink under a layer of the ferromagnetic fluid and drop into an exhaust vessel 50 from the second outlet 21 and are transported upward the exhaust vessel 50 by the second transporting system 40. And lower density particles are transported by the first transport system to the first outlet located at the other end of the bottom of the horizontal separation vessel 20. |
