<p>An assay for the detection of telomerase which consists of contacting the sample with a telomerase substrate primer and with oligonucleotides such that extension products are formed in the presence of telomerase, amplifying the extension products by PCR and detecting the PCR products. The telomerase substrate primer is labelled with a fluorescent label and the PCR products are fluorescent and can easily be detected.</p> |
