PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with various cases, as in paper type, OHP color image, or monochromatic consecutive output, without using a large-size, large-capacity fixing unit in a conventional color electrophotographic device. SOLUTION: By moving image forming units 1Bk, 1C, 1M, and 1Y, toner images in separate colors are formed on an intermediate transfer belt 32 one on top of the other. Then, the toner images are transferred to recording paper via a secondary transfer roller 36, and fixed by a fixing unit 41. By imparting various modes to the transfer to the recording paper by the intermediate transfer body 32 and transfer roller 36 and the movement of the fixing unit 41, the color electrophotographic device which uses a small-size fixing unit and is excellent in reliability is provided. |
